Software and hardware requirements

To use VideoMost, you need the following:
  1. PC running Windows or Mac OS X,
  2. Internet or LAN access to the VideoMost server,
  3. Webcam, microphone, and speakers (or headphones), either built-in or external,
  4. Any modern web browser or VideoMost software installed on your PC.

To ensure a higher quality of a videoconference, we recommend that you use a powerful modern computer and a broadband Internet connection.
For a detailed description of system requirements, see the sections below.

To ensure a higher quality of web videoconferencing, please make sure that the user workstation meets the following hardware and software requirements. A failure to meet these requirements may affect voice and video quality or result in the inability to establish a connection.

For PC with Windows OS:
  1. A computer with CPU Intel Core i5 1.8 (minimum),
  2. Please disable advanced sound card and microphone features (noise reduction, echo cancellation, 3D effects, etc.),
  3. Either a headset or a microphone and speakers,
  4. A video camera with image resolution at least 640x480 and a frame rate at least 30 Hz (brightness gain should be disabled),
  5. Windows 7(SP1), Windows 8.1 or Windows 10,
  6. At least one of web browsers (or applicatons) supporting WebRTC should be installed:
    1. Google Chrome 71+;
    2. MS Edge (new) 89+;
    3. or the VideoMost Proton application;
  7. Internet bandwidth: 500 kbps of incoming traffic; 500−2500 kbps of outgoing traffic,
  8. A video player supporting .mkv format and subtitles in .ass format for viewing conference records (Light Alloy is recommended player; to show subtitles in others players you may need to install DirectVobSub(VSFilter)).
For PC with macOS:
  1. An Apple computer with CPU Intel Core2Duo 2.0 GHz (minimum),
  2. Either a headset or a microphone and speakers,
  3. A built-in iSight camera connected to the computer or a video camera with a minimum resolution of 640x480 and a frame rate at least 30 Hz (brightness gain should be disabled),
  4. macOS 10.12.x -10.15.x,
  5. At least one of web browsers (or applicatons) supporting WebRTC should be installed:
    1. Google Chrome 71+;
    2. MS Edge (new) 89+;
    3. or the VideoMost Proton application.
  6. Internet bandwidth: 500 kbps of incoming traffic; 500−2500 kbps of outgoing traffic,
  7. A video player supporting .mkv format and subtitles in .ass format for viewing conference records.

Important!

Joining a VideoMost meeting is performed in the following way:

- joining a meeting from a browser with WebRTC support – inside this browser (no additional software is needed);

- joining a meeting from another browser – inside the VideoMost Proton application (starts automatically).

Important!

It is recommended that you do not run conferences in parallel with CPU-, HDD- and bandwidth-intensive software. For example, anti-virus software, disk defragmenters, automatic software update clients, torrent clients, other voice, video soft phones, etc.
